Roping

Today

Today we are learning about dividing decimals with hundredths in math. We are also learning about nutrition and food, we watched a video about how to stay healthy. We wrote acrostic poems and paraphrase poems in writing. In PE, we will choose a game to play for games day. In art, we’re going to make a food collage. We also had a rock climbing demonstration and the teacher tried to lasso some students with rope. Also, Mr. Oakes brought some different kinds of rope to show us. This classroom is very exciting!

Rainforest

Today

Today we learned all about the rain forest. We also did sentences about the rain forests in our groups. We had so much fun today. It was a blast. We all had fun. Mr.Oakes is the best teacher ever. He lets us have fun. I took a picture today of Ms Barth, yes me Melissa. I was in a picture as well. I was pretending to be sick. It was really funny. I like Mr.Oakes’ class. We learn something new every day. Now I will hand you over to Celestina. We fed Rosy a juice cricket. It is time to go home now.

Radio Lillooet

Today

Today we did many interesting things. For example we multiplied decimals by numbers less than ten. Then we went to gym and played red robin hockey, it was very fun. Afterwards we went out for recess. Then we came inside and did word sorting with Mrs.Barth. After that our class went to their guided reading groups. After guided reading we wrote poems.

March 6

Today

Today in math we did fractions and decimals. We also did social studies for that we did a map that is a map of Canada and did some question. For this theater we are doing about this miller and his son are going to sell their donkey, after we were done practice the theater one of the groups done there’s on a recorded on a type recorder, they were great. After that we played 7up I stayed up the longest but after he was called to get down because I was up to long. After recess we did a little more math and a little more social studies. We learned about poetry; also we when to guided reading for a half hour. In Statimc we coloured and we did some weather things and a weather Quiz, in French we watched a video called Salut, It has little clips about French clocks and time. We cleaned Rosie’s cage and after lunch we did a science test about the forces. After the test we read a book about drugs and the pressures they put on you. Our hockey team is going to the playoffs in Chase and Kamloops. Travis, our captain, got injured in our last game against the peewees, he might not be able to play in all the games.

Today

Today is March 5,2007. In the morning we did math and learned more about fractions and division. After math we did gym. In gym the class is learning about basketball and floor hockey. Sometimes we play other games like capture the flag with two flags on the basketball hoops on both sides. Ater gym we go outside for recess and kids play games like four square and other games too. After recess today we finished the rest of our math. Then the class went to guided reading. After guided reading we went out for lunch and the kids play games. After we go outside we come in and eat our lunch. Some kids in grade four and five help littler kids with reading. The reading tutors in grade five come on Monday when the other kids are working on their homework which is math, spelling, L.A. and writing. After the class works on their homework we work on social studies. We are learning about resources and settlement. After social studies it is the end of the day and kids will be getting their report cards. This paragraph was writing by Grace and Mariko.

Our Daily Blog
This week we learned lot of things in math, Social studies, Science and P.E. In math we learned about fractions and decimals bench markers. In socials we learned about natural resources. We learned about different forces in science. We are learning about basketball and floor hockey. We are learning about DRUG SAFTEY. This week we moved in groups of three, four or five. This week we also started on Adjectives, Adverbs, Conjunctions, Nouns, and Verbs. Do you like to listen to the radio? If you do tune to 100.5 FM on Tuesdays at 3:30 to 4:30 we will read stories, play music, and talk. If you are lucky you will hear our radio play, The Son, the donkey and the Miller. In science we are learning about MACHINES. We are writing Expository, Descriptive, Narrative, and Imaginary paragraphs. We are learning how to make web sites and type! Can you do that?

Learning


Today is March 1, 2007. We are learning about fractions and decimals in math. In socials studies we are learning about natural resources. Also that is happening, we are putting our desks in groups. In P.E. we are playing and learning about floor hockey. We are also doing a radio play at the school. Be sure to listen to it! Stay tuned and we will tell you when it will start.
