The New Crew

Hi my name is Madison I’m now my in grade five. Mr. Oakes is my teacher he is a really cool teacher. I like Mr. Oakes because he is fun to do sports with. He has a nice personality and he is really good at helping people like me and the class. Hi my name is Emma I’m in grade five now. I think Mr. Oakes is one of the best teachers I like him because he is fun and cool he teaches us some pretty good stuff he is probably the best P.E. teacher. For me Mr. Oakes is my best teacher I have ever had. News for this week it been a good week except we had vandalism on the school like they wrote bad stuff and broke the bells and bad stuff like that. Hi my name is Genna. I also am in grade five. I really like Mr. Oakes as a teacher. He is really funny ! I think he is the best teacher, but Mr. Lane and Mrs. Scallon are as well! We have a few new kids in our class ,Conner ,Dean, Max and Brandan. We all are making friends with them, and we are a big happy class.

Summer Time News

It is summer holidays and everyone is on vacation. I just returned back from a trip to Edmonton. The mountains were great, but the mosquitoes were terrible. We saw lots of animals, Bighorn sheep, elk, and a wolf.

Today



After We Came In Side At Nine O’clock And Then We Did Some Math Games I Was Partners With Marshall. We Played The Math Games Until 10:50. And After We Did Math We Watched A Movie. And Then After The Movie We Are Going To Have Our Recess. After Recess. And Then We’re Going To Do Something I Don’t Know What Where Doing Though And Then We Have Lunch It’s A&W And Then After Lunch. We Have A Dance Ashley’s Sister Krissy She Is Like Our Music Person She Brined Some Music I Don’t Know What Kind Thought I Think She Has Akon Or Some thing Like That. The Dance Is Until 3:00 After School Its Going To Be A Awesome Dance. The Movie We Watched Is Very Interesting It’s About All These Things These Rocks Have All These Little Designs And Are About Sciences. After Our Dance Is Home Time And Then In 7 Days There Will Be No School! I Cant Until Next Week Because My Best friend Sheldon Might Come To Lillooet. And Then Children Will Be Able To Stay Up Until Might Night Or So Well If There Parents Let Them My Parents Will Let Me My Mom Lets Me Stay Up Until 5:00 In The Morning Well If Im Not Loud. Cause My Big Screen Is So Noisy. Also Today We Made These Little Puzzles You Had To Draw A Dream You Want When You’re Older And Then We Put It On A Little Yellow Paper And Then We Put The Little Puzzle Pieces Then We Cutted It Out Then There You Go You Have A Puzzle. Couple Of Days Ago Our Spider Named Rosie She Shredded Her Bones.

Mountain Biking

TYLER Mountain Biking
Mountain biking is one of the best sports in the world. It is a sport that takes a lot of energy to do. There are many different styles of mountain biking. For example there is all mountain free ride, street and dirt. That is a few styles of mountain biking. I love to go mountain biking with my friends during the summer. You don’t have to have a really good bike to go out and ride. If you are into the jumping and getting air you should have a hard tail or full suspension. Mountain biking is one of the best sports in the world.

Dare Graduation

D.A.R.E

Today is the graduation for dare it is going to be at the George Murry. I am so exited and I think it will be so much fun, accept for the going up in front of their whole school. After lunch we are going to go on a bus. I really don’t like busses they always smell bad, so I will probably be holding my breath the whole time I am on the bus. And when we are on the bus someone will be handing out D.A.R.E t-shirts that we will have to were at the graduation. I am really exited!

D.A.R.E
Today is the last day of D.A.R.E. We are graduating today. It is at George M Murray. It is at 1:15p.m. Two people from George M and Cayoosh got picked to read their essays. Almost everyone wrote an essay. Everyone is dressed up for it. Our teacher is wearing a coat and tie. Some Girls are wearing skirts and some boys are gangster. We all get D.A.R.E t-shirts for our grad. Parents are going to the grad. Cst. Dudley and Mrs. Ralston will make a speech. Cst. Dudley will be dressed in a red suit. We will board the bus at 12:55 and 5 minutes later we are off to George M Murray.

Residential School

Residential school



When you are about five-years old you get taken away from your parents and sent to the residential school. Different churches the and the Canadian government controlled them. Sometimes they beat the children. The Canadian government didn’t like the first nation’s language because they thought their language was better, and that’s when they started taking the aboriginal people’s children away. They started putting them in the residential schools. At recess children where punished for speaking their language, I think. They had two months with there mother and father for the summer. They where only allowed to take a little bit of stuff cause kids only had a little cubby. You were only probably allowed to have a toothbrush, a hairbrush and maybe a little doll or toy or some thing. If you tried to runaway you would get punished. Even if you got hurt they would bring you to the doctor and then you would get put back in the school, there was no way out. They were not allowed to speak their own language. They were forced to give up their cultures. They had to wear uniforms. They had to do many jobs. At residential school you had to get up early in the morning.

News around the Town

There are a few things going on in town, the Fraser is still very high, but not as high as it was two weeks ago. You still have to boil the water because of the bacteria that found its way into the water. They closed the skateboard park so there was a big argument with the skaters and the police.
